On Friday, February 29th, at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center’s Conference Auditorium, BASIC, Inc will celebrate the BACK to BASICS,
An Evening With Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly Fundraiser Event.
Featuring music by Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly, the event is a fundraiser to help rebuild BASIC, Inc.’s New Orleans office. After Hurricane Katrina, BASIC’s office was left with extensive damage. Funds raised at the event will provide for repairs and organizational support.

As one of the top R&B acts of the late ‘70s and ‘80s, Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly was the essence of Philadelphia soul. The group featured a blend of unique talents in the multi-talented lead singer, founder, producer and songwriter Beverly and the distinctive Maze. The group enjoyed its greatest success among soul and urban audiences, producing over six gold albums at the height of their popularity.
Frankie Beverly’s smooth voice and Maze’s laid-back musical arrangements set the group apart from other soul acts of the time. In 1980 the group recorded their classic album Live in New Orleans and earned recognition as one of the greatest live acts in America.
